Hier soir on a bu des bières avec un ami (français) de Philippe qui finit sa thèse à l'université McGill. Il m'a appris que, contrairement à ce que j'avais entendu précédemment, un doctorant étranger peut obtenir une allocation s'il a le statut de résident permanent du Canada. C'est d'ailleurs son cas.
Voilà qui relance de plus belle mon questionnement. Thèse ou pas thèse?

Yesterday we went to drink some beers with a french friend of Philippe who is just finishing is PhD at McGill university. He told me that it was perfectly possible for a foreigner to get funding for its PhD in Québec, when I heard before that it was very unlikely. The thing is to have the permanent resident status, which he has.
So this resets my questioning even more : PhD or not PhD?
